Question: How do I know if the Close-Up references in the System.ini file are correct?
Answer: Close-Up loads its required drivers from the System.ini file. To make sure our references are correct in this file, a sample System.ini is located below.
Note:
This sample System.ini file is only intended for use as a guide. Do not try and use this file on a PC. It could cause your system to become unstable, or fail to boot into Windows properly.Step 1: Common problems with the System.ini.
A: Make sure the order of the sections is the same as the Guide. The order of the sections affects the order each device or driver loads.
B: Make sure the first line in the System.ini file is the [boot] line. Sometimes a blank line will be at the top of the System.ini file. This will cause our drivers to load improperly.
C: In the [boot] section, the "system.drv=system.drv" line will sometimes read "system.drv=atmsys.drv". The atmsys.drv driver will cause a conflict with Close-Up, and prevent the rest of our drivers from loading properly. Change the line to the Reference Guide version.
D: In the [386Enh] section, the "mouse=*vmouse, msmouse.vxd" line will sometimes read "mouse=*vmouse". Close-Up requires the msmouse.vxd included in this line, or else corruption of the System.ini file will occur. Change the line to the Reference Guide version.
E: In the [386Enh] section, the Close-Up reference "device=C:\CLOSUP65\CUPWIN9" will sometimes have a semicolon (;)in front of it. This will prevent this driver from loading properly. Change the line to the Reference Guide version.
