D-Link™ Router Multiple incoming iClose-Up connections
To have multiple iClose-Up Servers (incoming connections) behind a
Router you must forward a single unique port to the IP address of each
iClose-Up Server machine.
i.
Go to each
iClose-Up computer that you want to receive incoming connections (be able to be
iClose-Up Servers). On each computer
you will need to change iClose-Up’s port number and write down on a piece of
paper that port number and what IP address that computer has. You do this so you can later associate that
new port number with its IP address in your Router.
On the first iClose-Up computer double click on the red iClose-Up
triangles in the lower right of your screen.
Press the Options
button. Select the Proxy tab.
First, check the box on the line Internet Connection Sharing/Proxy
Servers/ Routers. Next in the line iClose-Up Port Number for this computer you
would enter a new port number (we suggest using port 50222). Enter 50222 on the first of the computers
behind the Router then press the OK button. A
message will come up telling you to restart your computer, wait; do not restart
your computer yet. Write down this
number (50222) and then find the IP address of this first computer and write
the IP address next to the port number (you may depending on whether you had
static or dynamic IP addresses have put this IP address in yourself). If you do not know how to find the IP
address of a computer see How to
Find IP Addresses. (The IP address
is probably 192.168.0.2). Now go ahead
and restart your computer. On the next
computer you would repeat the same process, double click on the red
iClose-Up triangles in the lower right of your screen. Press the Options button.
Select the Proxy
tab. First, check the box on the line Internet
Connection Sharing/Proxy Servers/ Routers. Next in the line iClose-Up
Port Number for this computer you
would enter the next number in sequences 50223 then press the OK button.
A message will come up telling you to restart your computer, wait; do
not restart your computer yet. Write down
the port number and then find the IP address of this computer and write the IP
address next to the port number. Now go
ahead and restart this computer. On the
next computer you would repeat the same process again and increasing the port
number by one to 50224 and again write it down and then find the IP address of
this computer and write the IP address next to the port number. In our example here we had three computers
behind the Router. If you had more
computers you would keep going increasing the port number on each of the
following computers and writing the port number down next to the IP address of
the computer.
ii.
Now the final
step to have multiple iClose-Up Servers behind the Router is to
configure your Router as follows.
1.
Open your web browser (on a PC behind your router) and enter
the address 192.168.0.1 and press Enter.
2.
Enter the router Administrator Password to change
settings.
3.
Select the Advanced link at the bottom of the screen.
4.
On the first line enter your port number (50222 in our
example above). On the same line enter
the last number of the four part IP address of the first computer (in our
example if the IP address 192.168.0.2 we would enter 2 because 2 is the last
part of the first IP address).
Therefore in our example port 50222 will be associated with IP address
192.168.0.2. Now check the box on this
line in the column marked Enable.
5.
On the next line enter the next port number (50223 in our
example). On the same line enter the
last number of the four part IP address of the next computer (in our example if
the IP address 192.168.0.3 we would enter 3 because 3 is the last part of the
first IP address). Therefore in our
example port 50223 will be associated with IP address 192.168.0.3. Now check the box on this line in the column
marked Enable.
6.
On the next line (if you have more than two iClose-Up
computers behind your router) enter the next port number (50224 in our
example). On the same line enter the
last number of the four part IP address of the next computer (in our example if
the IP address 192.168.0.4 we would enter 4 because 4 is the last part of the
first IP address). Therefore in our
example port 50224 will be associated with IP address 192.168.0.4. Now check the box on this line in the
column marked Enable.
7.
Now on the next line if you have more than three iClose-Up
computers behind your router you would continue as above putting in successive
Port numbers and IP addresses.
8.
When you are finished entering all the Port numbers and IP
addresses for all your iClose-Up computers behind the Router you would select
the Save button then the Reboot button and close the web browser.
You are done. You should have incoming
and outgoing iClose-Up functionality.
