What is Dial-Up Networking Security for Windows 95/98/Me

If Hard Drive Security (iClose-Up Access Point and Windows Share Point Security) is the lock on your front door then Dial-Up Networking Security is the front gate to your yard.  It only protects access to your computer by modem, and does not protect it by network or by way of the Internet.

If you use iClose-Up on the Internet then you need to have iClose-Up Hard Drive Security.  To put in iClose-Up Hard Drive Security go to “Security for This Computer”, click the “Settings” button in the “iClose-Up Hard Drive Security” section.

If you want to add Dial-Up Networking security then right click on the red iClose-Up triangles in the lower right of the screen and selecting “Security for This Computer”.  Then click on the “Settings” button in the “Dial-Up Networking Security” section.  Now click on the New Password line and enter your Password, then select Confirm New Password and enter your Password again.  Now click on Set then click on Close.

The Dial-Up Networking Security Password generates a lot of our tech support calls, so please make sure if you use one that anyone calling in to your computer puts this Password in the Phone Book entry for your computer.  They should go to the iClose-Up List by Double clicking on the red iClose-Up triangles in the lower right of their screen, then single click on the phone book entry to your computer, then, single click on Edit Entry, then find and click on Dial-Up Server Security Information.  They can put in any Username but the Password has to be the Dial-Up Networking Security Password on your computer.
