Getting
you started with a modem to modem connection:
Once you install iClose-Up, your computer
is both an iClose-Up Client (the side making the connection) and an iClose-Up
Server (the side receiving the connection).
If you want Remote Control, install Microsoft’s NetMeeting (version 3.01
or higher) on both computers.
iClose-Up Server:
On the
computer that you decide will be the iClose-Up
Server you will need to set the modem to answer incoming
calls:
a) On Windows 95/98/Me computers, Single Click the Right mouse button with your pointer on the red iClose-Up triangles in the lower
right of your screen, then select and click on Allow
Modem Connections to this Computer. Now select Allow
clients to call this computer.
The iClose-Up Server side is ready to go!
b) On Windows NT/2000/XP computers, Single Click the Right mouse button with your pointer on the red iClose-Up triangles in the lower
right of your screen, then select and click on Allow
Modem Connections to this Computer. Now select the Server pull down menu and click on Start RAS Server.. The iClose-Up Server side is ready to go!

iClose-Up Client:
a) On the computer
you decide will be the iClose-Up Client you will need to create a Phone Book entry for the iClose-Up Server
you want to connect to. Double click on the red iClose-Up triangles in the lower right of the screen, and click on Create Entry.
b) Then
select Modem Connection. Put in the area code, phone
number, select the modem you are using, and then click on the “Explain This” help
button to see what User Name and Password you need to put in. Next you would put in the Remote Control
Password for the iClose-Up Server you are connecting to, if it has one. In our example here we did not put a Remote
Control Password on the iClose-Up Server so we would leave this field blank.

Now select your
new Phone Book entry in the iClose-Up List and click, then choose and click on Connect to Entry.
After the modems dial and connect you will see the “Connect Options”
screen giving you the choice of doing one or more of, File Transfers, Remote
Control or Chatting. If you choose to
do file transfers, choose “iClose-Up Quick File
Transfer…”. If you choose to run Remote Control select “Take Remote Control…” and if you have NetMeeting
installed on both sides, you will have a window in the center of your Client
screen, which is your Remote Control window of the Server computer. If you want both file transfers and remote
control then select both “iClose-Up Quick File
Transfer…” and “Take
Remote Control…”.
That’s all there is to it, it’s that easy!
