Internet, iClose-Up dialer:

iClose-Up Server:

iClose-Up’s dialer:  On the computer you decide will be the iClose-Up Server you will need to get connected to the Internet.  You should try to dial onto the Internet using your Phone Book entry you created using your ISP’s Setup program..  You can do this by bringing up the iClose-Up List by Double clicking on the red iClose-Up triangles in the lower right of the screen, then click your ISP’s entry in the iClose-Up List then click again on Connect to Entry to get on the Internet.  You can then close the iClose-Up List.  Your iClose-Up Server is now ready to accept a connection from an iClose-Up Client.

iClose-Up Client:

iClose-Up’s dialer:  On the computer you decide will be the iClose-Up Client you will need to connect to an iClose-Up Server.  You want to use iClose-Up’s dialer to connect to the Internet.  You now need to make an entry for the iClose-Up Server you want to connect to, in your iClose-Up List.  Double click on the red iClose-Up triangles in the lower right of the screen, then click on Create Entry then select Internet Connection (using your ISP).  You will be asked to select the entry that you have for your ISP.  (iClose-Up will link the new entry you are creating to get to an iClose-Up Server to your ISP, so if you later select your new entry iClose-Up knows to dial your ISP first, to allow you to connect.)  You next will be asked for the iClose-Up Internet Name for the computer you want to connect to.

When iClose-Up is installed it asks the person installing to enter a name that will be used to uniquely identify each iClose-Up on the Internet.  If you are not at the iClose-Up Server Have someone at the other computer, the iClose-Up Server side, go to their iClose-Up List, by double clicking on their red iClose-Up triangles in the lower right of their screen and then have them select Options, then they will select the Internet tab to find their iClose-Up Internet Name.  You will then enter that name.

Next you will be asked for a Remote Control Password for the iClose-Up Server you are connecting to, you should put one in if they have put in an iClose-Up Remote Control Password.  They can check if they have a Remote Control Password by going into their iClose-Up List, and selecting Options then Remote then Passwords.  You will leave this entry blank if they have No password, and enter their password if they have one.

Next you will be asked to enter a descriptive name for your new entry that will appear in your iClose-Up List.  Now there are two ways to connect to an iClose-Up Server:

1:  You can connect to the Internet and then connect to an iClose-Up Server.  To connect to the Internet first bring up your iClose-Up List by Double clicking on the red iClose-Up triangles in the lower right of the screen, then click your ISP’s entry in the iClose-Up List then click again on Connect to Entry to get on the Internet.  At this point your entry to connect to an iClose-Up Server will move from Offline to Available.  If you had other entries in your iClose-Up List for other people you know that use iClose-Up they would be either in your Offline or Available sections depending if they are on the Internet.  Whenever any of them get on the Internet their entry in your list will go to Available.  You can connect to one or more iClose-Up Servers now by selecting their entry and then selecting Connect to Entry to connect to the iClose-Up Server.

After connecting you will see the “Connect Options” screen giving you the choice of doing one or more of, File Transfers, Remote Control or Chatting.  If you choose to do file transfers, choose “iClose-Up Quick File Transfer…”.  If you choose to run Remote Control select “Take Remote Control…” and if you have NetMeeting installed on both sides, you will have a window in the center of your Client screen, which is your Remote Control window of the Server computer.  If you want both file transfers and remote control then select both “iClose-Up Quick File Transfer…” and “Take Remote Control…”.  That’s all there is to it, it’s that easy!

2:  Or, you can connect directly to an iClose-Up Server.  To connect bring up your iClose-Up List by Double clicking on the red iClose-Up triangles in the lower right of the screen, then click on the entry for the iClose-Up Server you want to connect to then select Connect to Entry to connect to the iClose-Up Server.  iClose-Up will dial your ISP then connect to the iClose Server.
