Problem with File Transfers or not
being able to see drives/files: Ninety percent (90%) of all
problems people have with their transfers involve not having the proper rights
(passwords and permissions) to folders they are accessing.
If you can’t see the folders or drive on
the other computer and it is a Windows 95/98/Me then those folders or drives
are not shared.
If you are transferring to or from
folders with passwords (Windows 95/98/Me) it is imperative to make sure you
know the passwords. If you are going to
be transferring to Windows NT/2000/XP
or NetWare file servers it is imperative to make sure you have the (user)
rights to the folders you want to access.
If there are domains involved make sure the Domain Administrator sets up
the permissions correctly. iClose-Up
adheres to Microsoft security in Windows 95/98/Me, and Windows NT/2000/XP.
