Problem Remote Control Errors:  If you get any of the following error codes when trying to Remote Control another computer follow the instructions below.

Error 81000108

Remote Error Messages:  If you get the message on the iClose-Up Client side “Could not start remote control with xxxx , exiting – Error 81000108

(xxxx is the name of iClose-Up Server computer)

This error is caused by the iClose-Up server computer’s NetMeeting being configured in an incompatible way with iClose-Up.  There are several options to check.  You can fix the problem by running NetMeeting by hand on the Server side and go to the Tools pull-down menu.  Then select Options:

1)  In the Security tab deselectI prefer to receive secure incoming calls.  Accept only secure calls when I’m not in a meeting.

2)  In the General tab deselectRun NetMeeting in the background when Windows starts.”

Error 80004002

If you get the message on the iClose-Up Client side when trying to run an iClose-Up Server Remotely  “Could not start remote control xxxx xxxx  – Error 80004002   This error is caused by the “Coms” not being initialized properly on the Client computer and therefore our communication with NetMeeting does not work properly.  Reloading iClose-Up and/or NetMeeting will not resolve the problem as the computer was in a bad state prior to our install.  The solution is to reload the “Coms”:

1)  Copy the program RELOAD.B from the iClose-Up folder to the Windows System folder on Windows 95/98/Me computers and the Windows System32 folder on Windows NT4.0, Windows 2000, and Windows XP computers.  It is VERY important to make sure that the file is in the proper folder System vs. System32 because running this program from the wrong folder can crash the computer.

2)  Now that the File is in the appropriate system folder rename RELOAD.B to RELOAD.BAT

3)  Now run a DOS Command Prompt.

4)  Now change directory at the DOS prompt to either the System or the System32 directory.

5)   Type   RELOAD     and the press the Enter key

6)  Close the DOS Command Prompt by typing   EXIT  and pressing the Enter key.

The problem should now be fixed.  You can connect again and try controlling the other computer remotely.
