Remote Printing
Remote printing
means that the physical printer needs to be connected and installed on the
iClose-Up Client computer. You would
then connect to the iClose-Up Server computer and print a document or graphic
on the iClose-Up Server, but it would be transferred and printed out remotely
on the iClose-Up Client computer.
Lets use
Microsoft Word for our example. We will
assume that you have already installed an iClose-Up printer, the installation
instructions are described in the below paragraph “A) Installing an iClose-Up Printer Driver on the iClose-Up Server Side”.
Microsoft Word
would be on the iClose-Up Server Computer.
You would from your iClose-Up Client computer connect to the iClose-Up
Server and start Remote Control. You
would then run Microsoft Word and have a document in Word that you are looking
at remotely, that you wish to print.
You would then pull down the “File” menu and select “Print”. At the top of the Word
Option screen it will say “Name” with the name of the default printer selected. If this is not the printer driver that you
modified by adding iClose-Up to the printer name then you would press the down
arrow button to select the printer driver you modified by adding iClose-Up
after the printer name. You then select
“Ok” and the document will print on the iClose-Up Client side. After you Exit Microsoft Word, Word will
revert to using the default printer driver the next time you bring up Microsoft
Word.
A) Installing an iClose-Up Printer Driver on the iClose-Up Server
Side:
We will assume that you have an installed physical printer on the
iClose-Up Client computer. You will now
be installing a printer driver on the iClose-Up Server computer. The printer driver you install must be for the
physical printer located on the iClose-Up Client computer. Windows comes with all the popular printer
drivers so the driver you need will probably be available without needing the
floppy disk for the printer driver for your printer.
There are two
ways to install an iClose-Up printer driver on the iClose-Up Server
computer. First, you can be at the
iClose-Up Server computer and install an iClose-Up printer driver. Or you can connect remotely from the
iClose-Up Client computer and install an iClose-Up printer driver remotely on
the iClose-Up Server side. It does not
matter which way you install the results are the same. Below are the steps you should take for
installing. They are divided into
